                                                     Quarter 3: Research Argument Unit

     Overview

In this unit, you will learn and explore the research process by crafting an inquiry-based research question based on a  topic of your choice. The topic you choose should impact you or someone close to you in a meaningful way. Prior to developing a research question, you will write a narrative proposal explaining why this issue is particularly meaningful to you.

As a researcher, you will use tools and strategies to find, analyze, and organize information from a variety of credible and reliable sources. Also, as you analyze the sources, you will consider multiple perspectives. These multiple perspectives will guide you in developing an argument. With that being said, it is important to keep an open mind and evaluate all the evidence as you engage in research.

The major assessments of this unit will allow you to demonstrate your understanding of various reading, writing, research, and oral presentation skills.
